On Saturday, April 15, 2023, Puente Latino Association hosted an Earth Day event called "Mi Tierra" at the new Conservation Corps Environmental Education Center located at the corner of Harding and Deforest Ave in North Long Beach The event was filled with a variety of activities that aimed to promote healing for the body, mind, and Earth.

The event kicked off with a cleanup of the wetlands led by the Conservation Corps, followed by Coffee and Conchitas with friends. Music filled the air throughout the day with Martin Espino, Chelsey Sanchez, Johnny Perez, and DJ Hawkeye. There were also many activities for the entire family including a face painting booth that was busy all day.

For those interested in healing the mind and body, there was a Bird and Native Plant Walk led by Cris Sarabia, yoga with Robert, and an Aztec drum circle.

For those looking to heal the Earth, there were plenty of educational opportunities offered by the participating organizations. These activities included seed planting and plant giveaways, compost and recycle information, and seed bombs making.

Overall, the "Mi Tierra" Earth Day event was a huge success. Attendees were able to connect with nature, learn about environmental conservation, and participate in activities that promote healing for the body and mind. Puente Latino Association was thrilled to be able to host such an amazing event and looks forward to hosting similar events in the future. We want to thank our main sponsor Edison Internationa for their support, and US Congresswoman Nanette Barragan for officially opening the event.
