Censo 2020

Puente Latino Association’s Census 2020 Musical Caravans

Puente Latino Association was commissioned to work as a subcontractor for the City of Long Beach to do community outreach in the Census Hard to Count communities.

From April 1st to October 15th, 2020, Puente hosted 38 art and cultural events. Our innovative Musical Caravans used during Census Day on April 1st, and throughout the COVID -19 shut down, brought live musical performances and DJs to the streets along with public announcements to complete the census. Puente’s musical caravans received national recognition from the US Census Bureau, and on May 20th the Bureau invited organizations nationwide to do their own Caravans for the weekend of June 19-21, and they used our event as a guide.
